3, 2, 1, Go… Athlete will move from behind the EVENT START/FINISH line to their sandbag and perform 10 sandbag to shoulder .
They will then perform three 50ft shuttle runs (300ft in total). A pylon will be placed 50ft from the SHUTTLE RUN START/FINISH LINE – athletes will run 50ft to the pylon, going around, and 50ft back to the SHUTTLE RUN START/FINISH LINE, which will be 1 repetition.
After completion of 3 shuttle runs, athletes will then perform 8 sandbag to shoulder, and another 3 shuttles.
This will continue in descending rep scheme – 6, 4, 2 – with final time being recorded when athlete returns to the EVENT START/FINISH line after their final 3 shuttles runs.
Movement Standards:
Sandbag to Shoulder:
Setup / Starting Position
• Movement begins with the athlete standing over the sandbag with hips and knees fully extended.
Rep Standard
• Athlete cleans or picks up the sandbag and brings it to rest on either shoulder.
• Rep is credited when the sandbag is resting on the shoulder, and the athlete is standing upright with hips and knees fully extended.
No-Rep Criteria
• Sandbag does not contact and come to rest on the shoulder.
• Hips or knees are not fully extended at the top.
• Sandbag rests on the arm or chest rather than the shoulder
Shuttle Run:
Setup / Starting Position
• Course is marked with pylons at the designated turn points.
• Athlete begins behind the shuttle run start/finish line.
Rep Standard
• Athlete runs the designated course, rounding each pylon — the pylon must be passed on the outside.
• Rep or distance is credited when the athlete completes the required course and crosses the shuttle run start/finish line.
No-Rep Criteria
• Athlete touches the pylon rather than going around it on the outside.
• Athlete does not cross the start/finish line to complete the rep.
